The Global South, or developing world/third world, as it is better known, roughly represents close to 90% of the world’s populace. But because of the inherent and structural ways “developed” and “developing” states are categorized in the world, we seldom hear the diverse points of view of the South, and if we do, we often hear it from a preconceived structure and narrative often formulated by, through, or in, the Global North.
This often has far reaching consequences for the relationships between those States and its peoples. In an era of geopolitics, where state-relationships can make or break the balance between conflict or peace, dialogue or cold-war, accommodation or persecution, negotiation or polarity, being understood by (and understanding) the other, is everything.
Perspective South is committed toward bridging this global gap of seeing eye to eye, through the amplification of perspectives from the Global South, Exploration of Third World Approaches to International Law and building cultural bridges between peoples and experts in the North and South.
